104. Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe and Hole Cover Installation

Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe and Hole Cover Installation (LS3, LS7)





1. Install the seals (308) onto the engine coolant air bleed pipe.

Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

Note:
Production engines use a rivet-type plug at the top rear coolant passage of each cylinder head. If service of a leaking plug is required, it is necessary to remove the cylinder head from the engine to properly remove the plug prior to cover installation. Refer to Cylinder Head Disassemble 47. Cylinder Head Disassemble.

2. Install the pipe (307) and bolts (309). Tighten the bolts to 12 Nm (106 lb in).

3. As required, install either a NEW rivet plug or the earlier design coolant air bleed covers with seals (313) and bolts (312). Refer to Cylinder Head Assemble 50. Cylinder Head Assemble. Tighten the bolts to 12 Nm (106 lb in).
