Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement (Manual)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the steering column tilt wheel release lever knob from the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Tilt Wheel Release Lever Replacement Steering Column Tilt Wheel Release Lever Replacement.

2. Remove the driver knee bolster panel. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Panel Replacement Service and Repair.




3. Separate the lower steering column trim cover (1) tabs from the upper steering column trim cover and the slots in the steering column housing trim extension cover (2).




4. Separate the upper steering column steering column trim cover (1) tabs from the slots in the steering column housing trim extension cover (2).

5. Remove the steering column housing trim extension cover assembly (2).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the steering column housing trim extension cover assembly (2).

2. Install the upper steering column trim cover (1) to the steering column housing trim extension cover (2).

3. Verify that the tabs on the upper steering column trim cover (1) are fully engaged with the slots in the steering column housing trim extension cover (2).




4. Install the lower steering column trim cover (1) tabs into the steering column housing trim extension cover (2) and upper steering column trim cover.

5. Verify that the tabs on the lower steering column trim cover (1) are fully engaged in the upper steering column trim cover and the slots in the steering column housing trim extension cover (2).

6. Install the driver knee bolster panel. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Panel Replacement Service and Repair.

7. Install the steering column tilt wheel release lever knob. Refer to Steering Column Tilt Wheel Release Lever Replacement Steering Column Tilt Wheel Release Lever Replacement.
