Stabilizer Shaft Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair
2. Remove the left and right upper stabilizer shaft link nuts (1).
3. Disconnect the left and right stabilizer shaft links from the stabilizer shaft.
4. Remove the insulator clamp nuts (1).
5. Remove the insulator clamp bolts (1).
6. Remove the insulator clamps (1).
7. Remove the stabilizer shaft assembly (1) from the vehicle.
8. Remove the stabilizer shaft insulators (1).
Installation Procedure
1. Install the stabilizer shaft insulators (1).
2. Install the stabilizer shaft assembly (1) to the vehicle.
3. Install the insulator clamps (1).
Note: Do not fully tighten the insulator clamp bolts and nuts until instructed.
4. Loosely install the insulator clamp bolts (1).
5. Loosely install the insulator clamp nuts (1).
Note: Only tighten the insulator clamp bolts and nuts enough to draw the insulator clamp to the rear suspension support.
6. Tighten the insulator clamp bolts and nuts alternately and evenly until the insulator clamps are drawn to the rear suspension support.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
7. Tighten the insulator clamp bolts to 110 Nm (81 lb ft).
8. Connect the left and right stabilizer shaft links to the stabilizer shaft.
9. Install the left and right upper stabilizer shaft link nuts (1) and tighten to 60 Nm (44 lb ft) + 30 degrees.
10. Lower the vehicle and tighten the insulator clamp nuts to 60 Nm (44 lb ft) + 60 degrees.
