Folding Top Replacement (Manual Top)

Removal Procedure





1. Position the number 1 bow and the number 5 bow in an up position.

2. Open top stowage compartment lid.

3. Remove the lock pillar upper trim panel. Refer to Body Lock Pillar Trim Panel Replacement Body Lock Pillar Trim Panel Replacement

4. Disconnect the rear defogger electrical connections at the seat belt tower.





5. Remove pivot bracket brace.

6. Remove the folding top pivot bracket bolts with an assistant.

7. With an assistant, slide the top slightly up and then rearward and out of the pillar bracket pin.

Installation Procedure





1. With an assistant, position the folded top to the vehicle with the top pivot bracket resting on the pillar bracket pin.

2. Ailing bolt holes by inserting a drift pin in the alignment hole (1).





3. Install pivot bracket brace.

4. Install the pivot bracket bolts.





Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

5. Install the folding top bolts to the body in the mandatory sequence 1, 2, 3.

Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).

6. Connect the rear defogger electrical connections.

7. Close and latch the top.

8. Install the lock pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Lock Pillar Trim Panel Replacement Body Lock Pillar Trim Panel Replacement.

9. Check top for proper operation.

10. Water test the folding top.
