Intake Manifold Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the intake manifold cover (2). Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement Intake Manifold Cover Replacement
2. Loosen the clamps (1) and remove the air cleaner outlet duct (2). Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement Service and Repair
3. Remove the power steering reservoir bolt (1) and position the reservoir (2) out of the way.
4. Disconnect the surge tank hose (3) from the intake manifold and position out of the way.
5. Disconnect the MAP sensor (4).
6. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose (5) from the intake manifold.
7. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation tube (6) from the intake manifold.
8. Disconnect the throttle body connector (7).
9. Remove the evaporative emission hose (8) and connector (9) from the EVAP solenoid.
10. Remove the fuel pump cover bolt (10).
11. Remove the fuel pump cover.
12. Remove the intake manifold bolts (1).
13. Remove the intake manifold assembly (2).
14. Remove and discard the intake manifold gasket (3).
15. Transfer parts as needed.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the NEW intake manifold gasket (3).
2. Install the intake manifold assembly (2).
Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution
3. Install the intake manifold bolts (1).
4. Tighten the intake manifold bolts in the sequence shown.
5. Tighten the intake manifold bolts in sequence to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
6. Tighten the intake manifold bolts a second pass in sequence to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
7. Install the fuel pump cover.
8. Install the fuel pump cover bolt (10) and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
9. Connect the EVAP hose (8) and connector (9) to the EVAP solenoid.
10. Connect the throttle body connector (7).
11. Connect the PCV tube (6) to the intake manifold.
12. Connect the brake vacuum booster hose (5) to the intake manifold.
13. Connect the MAP sensor (4).
14. Connect the surge tank hose (3) to the intake manifold.
15. Position the power steering reservoir (2) and install the bolt (1).
16. Install the air cleaner outlet duct (2) and tighten the clamps (1). Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement Service and Repair
17. Install intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement Intake Manifold Cover Replacement.
