-
Battery Sensor Module Internal Malfunction
DTC B151C 42
-
Battery Sensor Module Calibration Not Programmed
Circuit/System Description
The generator battery control module monitors its internal battery current sensor for many charging system operations, and also for diagnostic purposes. If there is an internal malfunction of the generator battery control module, or if the body control module (BCM) determines the generator battery control module is not programmed, this DTC will set.
Conditions for Running the DTC
* The engine is not running.
* This diagnostic runs every 50 ms.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
* The intelligent battery control module has an internal malfunction.
* The BCM detects the intelligent battery control module is not programmed.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
The regulated voltage control is disabled.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
The duty cycle of the internal battery current sensor is 3-97% duty cycle.
Diagnostic Aids

Circuit/System Verification
1. Verify that the B18 Battery Current Sensor is installed correctly. The B18 Battery Current Sensor should be installed on the negative battery cables, with the sensor coil around the negative cables and facing away from the battery, and with the harness connector facing toward the battery.
• If the B18 Battery Current Sensor is installed backwards or incorrectly, remove and reinstall the B18 Battery Current Sensor.
2. Ignition ON, clear the DTC with the scan tool. Verify that DTC B151C does not set.
3. If the DTC resets, Program the B18 Battery Current Sensor with the scan tool.
4. Ignition on, clear the DTC with the scan tool. Verify that DTC B151C does not set.
• If the DTC sets, replace the B18 Battery Current Sensor.
5. Ignition on, verify that DTC B151C does not set.
• If the DTC sets, replace the K9 Body Control Module.
