DTC Descriptor
DTC B3155 00
-
Passenger Door Lock Switch Circuit
Diagnostic Fault Information
Circuit/System Description
The exterior passenger door handle contains a small sensor which allows a person to lock the vehicle doors from the outside without using the remote keyless transmitter. The keyless entry control module monitors the voltage level on the passenger door handle switch signal circuit, when the switch is pressed, the voltage in the signal circuit will drop and the keyless entry control module will then send a serial data message to the BCM to command all the doors to lock.
Conditions for Running the DTC
Battery voltage is between 9-16 V.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The keyless entry control module detects the passenger door lock switch lock circuit is shorted to ground for greater than 45 seconds.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
The keyless entry control module ignores inputs from the passenger exterior door handle switch.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
* The DTC will be current for as long as the fault is present.
* When the fault is no longer present, the DTC will be a history DTC.
* A history DTC will clear after 50 ignition cycles.

Circuit/System Verification
Observe the scan tool Exterior Passenger Door Handle Touch Sensor parameter while pressing and releasing the door handle touch sensor-passenger exterior. The value should change between Active and Inactive as the sensor is pressed and released.
Circuit/System Testing
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the T10N keyless entry antenna-passenger door handle.
2. Test for less than 5 ohms between the ground circuit terminal 4 and ground.
• If greater than the specified range, test the gorund circuit for an open/high resistance.
3. Ignition ON, verify the scan tool Exterior Passenger Door Handle Touch Sensor parameter is Inactive.
• If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal 3 for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K84 keyless entry control module.
4. Connect a 3A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal 3 and ground, verify the scan tool Exterior Passenger Door Handle Touch Sensor is Active.
• If not the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K84 keyless entry control module
5. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the T10N keyless entry antenna-passenger door handle.
