Radiator Mounting Stud Repair
Repair Procedure
1. Pressure test the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Leak Testing Component Tests and General Diagnostics.
Note:
If the radiator is leaking, replace it do not attempt to repair it.
2. Remove the radiator assembly. Refer to Radiator Replacement (With NJ1) Radiator Replacement (With NJ1)Radiator Replacement (Without NJ1) Radiator Replacement (Without NJ1).
3. Grind the fracture surface (1) with a proper tool.
4. Drill a persistent hole in center of the fracture surface, using a 6 mm (0.24 in)drill.
Note:
The bolt should not be longer than 25 mm (0.98 in).
5. Install the new radiator mounting pin (2).
* Install the nut (3)
* Install the radiator mounting pin (2) with the bolt (1)
6. Install the Radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement (With NJ1) Radiator Replacement (With NJ1)Radiator Replacement (Without NJ1) Radiator Replacement (Without NJ1).
