Radiator Replacement (Without NJ1)




Radiator Replacement (Without NJ1)

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.

2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static) Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static) Cooling System Draining and Filling.

3. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement Front Bumper Fascia Replacement.

4. Remove the right front headlamp capsule. Refer to Headlamp Capsule Replacement Headlamp Capsule Replacement.





5. Remove the air cleaner inlet duct fasteners (1) and air cleaner inlet duct (2).





6. Remove the front intake air duct water deflector fastener (1) and front intake air duct water deflector (2).





7. Remove the radiator air upper baffle deflector fasteners (1) and the radiator air upper baffle deflector (2).





8. Remove the right radiator air side baffle deflector fasteners (1) and the radiator air side baffle deflector (2).





9. Remove the left radiator air side baffle deflector fasteners (1) and the radiator air side baffle deflector (2).





10. Remove the power steering reservoir (1) and outlet hose (2). Refer to Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (L4) Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (L4)Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (V6) Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (V6) and Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement (V6) Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement (V6)Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement (L4) Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement (L4).





11. Remove the radiator inlet hose from the radiator. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (L4) Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (L4)Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (V6) Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (V6).





12. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the radiator. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (L4) Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (L4)Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (V6) Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (V6).

13. Remove the transmission cooler outlet and inlet pipes from the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe Replacement (L4) Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe Replacement (L4)Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe Replacement (V6) Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe Replacement (V6) and Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement (L4) Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement (L4)Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement (V6) Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement (V6).





14. Release the clips securing the air conditioning condenser (1) to the radiator and pull the condenser (1) forward as far as possible.

15. Support the air conditioning condenser assembly.

Note:
Prior to performing the following procedure support the radiator assembly.





16. Remove the radiator lower support bracket fasteners (1) and the radiator lower support brackets (2)





17. Remove the radiator assembly (1) from the vehicle.





18. Remove the radiator upper insulators (1) from the radiator assembly.

19. Release the tabs at the bottom of the radiator (3) and lift the engine cooling fan shroud (2) up removing it from the radiator assembly (3).

Installation Procedure





1. Position the engine cooling fan shroud (2) to the radiator assembly (3) and push downward locking the engine cooling fan shroud to the radiator assembly.

2. Install the radiator upper insulators (1) to the radiator assembly.





3. Position the radiator assembly (1) into the vehicle and temporally support the radiator.





4. Install the radiator lower support brackets (2) and fasteners (1). Tighten the fasteners to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).





5. Position the air conditioning condenser (1) to the radiator, and push inward securing the air conditioning condenser to the radiator assembly.

6. Install the transmission cooler outlet and inlet pipes to the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe Replacement (L4) Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe Replacement (L4)Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe Replacement (V6) Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe Replacement (V6) and Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement (L4) Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement (L4)Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement (V6) Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement (V6).





7. Install the radiator outlet hose to the radiator. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (L4) Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (L4)Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (V6) Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (V6).





8. Install the radiator inlet hose to the radiator. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (L4) Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (L4)Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (V6) Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (V6).





9. Install the power steering reservoir (1) and outlet hose (2). Refer to Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (L4) Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (L4)Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (V6) Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (V6) and Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement (V6) Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement (V6)Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement (L4) Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement (L4).





10. Install the left radiator air side baffle deflector (2) and the radiator air side baffle deflector fasteners (1).





11. Install the right radiator air side baffle deflector (2) and the radiator air side baffle deflector fasteners (1).





12. Install the radiator air upper baffle deflector (2) and the radiator air upper baffle deflector fasteners (1).





13. Install the front intake air duct water deflector (2) and front intake air duct water deflector fastener (1).





14. Install the air cleaner inlet duct (2) and air cleaner inlet duct fasteners (1).

15. Install the right front headlamp capsule. Refer to Headlamp Capsule Replacement Headlamp Capsule Replacement.

16. Install the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement Front Bumper Fascia Replacement.

17. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static) Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static) Cooling System Draining and Filling.

18. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
