Shift Control Housing Seal Replacement

DT-527-A - Adjusting Pin

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools M20/M32 - Manual Transmission.

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement (Except Diesel) Battery Tray Replacement (Except Diesel)Battery Tray Replacement (Diesel) Battery Tray Replacement (Diesel).

2. Remove the backup lamp switch. Refer to Backup Lamp Switch Replacement M20/M32 - Manual Transmission.

3. Release the surge tank.

4. Position the transaxle into NEUTRAL and fix it with DT-527-A - adjusting pin.

5. Release the manual transmission shift lever cable from the shift control housing and manual transmission selector and shift lever cable bracket.





Note:
Secure heater inlet hose and the heater outlet hose with a cable ties.

6. Get the both hoses by side.





Note:
Selector forks in the gearbox must not be moved - danger of damaging gearbox.

7. Remove the both fastener from the shift control housing (1).





Note:
The graphics are shown with the gearbox open for a clearer illustration.

8. Release the gear shift assembly.

9. Pull the gear shift assembly (2) 3 cm out the transmission and do not prescribe the shift fork (1).

10. Turn the gear shift assembly in clockwise 30-45 degrees.

11. Pull the gear shift assembly 5-6 cm out of the transmission and turn anti clockwise 30-45 degrees.





Note:

12. Tilting the gear shift assembly (1) back and pull with caution out of the transmission. Do not move the switch forks (2).





13. Check the switch forks, they must be everything in one position (1).





14. Remove the shift control housing seal (1) from shift control housing (2).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the NEW shift control housing seal to shift control housing.





Note:
Do not move the switch forks. By resisted again out move and from the front begin. Insert not by force.

2. Install the shift control housing.

* Tilting the shift control housing (1) back by direction of arrow.

* Slide with caution the shift control housing in the transmission.





3. If you feel a resisted than turn the gear shift housing in clockwise 30-45 degrees.

4. Insert the shift control housing 5-6 cm in the transmission.





5. Turn the gear shift housing (2) counterclockwise 30-45 degrees.

6. Insert the shift control housing 3 cm in the transmission (1).

There will be a light resistance.

Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

7. Install the both gear shift housing fastener and tighten to 20 Nm (14 lb ft).

8. Remove the cable ties from the heater inlet and heater outlet hose.

9. Install the manual transmission shift lever cable to the shift control housing and manual transmission selector and shift lever cable bracket.

10. Remove DT-527-A - pin.

11. Install the surge tank.

12. Install the backup lamp switch. Refer to Backup Lamp Switch Replacement M20/M32 - Manual Transmission.

13. Install the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement (Except Diesel) Battery Tray Replacement (Except Diesel)Battery Tray Replacement (Diesel) Battery Tray Replacement (Diesel).

14. Check gears.
