Crankshaft Balancer Installation

Special Tools

* EN-652 - Flywheel Holder

* EN-45059 - Angle Meter

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools Special Tools.




1. Install the EN-652 - holder (1), lock the flywheel (2) or the automatic transmission flex plate via the starter ring gear.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

Note: Use care that the height (1) of the washer is facing towards the bolt.

2. Install the crankshaft balancer (2), the washer (3) and a NEW bolt (1).

3. Tighten the NEW crankshaft balancer bolt (1) a first pass to 95 Nm (70 lb ft).

Caution: Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution.

4. Tighten the NEW crankshaft balancer bolt a second pass to an additional 45°, using the EN-45059 - meter.

5. Tighten the NEW crankshaft balancer bolt a final pass to an additional 15°, using the EN-45059 - meter.
