Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement - Bank 2 (Left Side) Exhaust
Removal Procedure
1. Ignition OFF.
Warning:
Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning Service Precautions.
2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
3. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front.
Note:
Do not disconnect the power steering fluid hoses from the reservoir.
4. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir bolts and reposition the power steering fluid reservoir to provide access to the camshaft position (CMP) sensor. Warning:
Refer to Safety Glasses Warning Safety Glasses Warning.
5. Use compressed air to remove debris from the CMP sensor and surrounding cavities.
6. Remove the CMP sensor electrical connector (1) from the CMP sensor (2).
7. Remove the CMP sensor to engine front cover retaining bolt (2).
8. Remove the CMP sensor (1) from the engine.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the CMP sensor (1) to the engine.
Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
2. Install the CMP sensor (1) to engine front cover retaining bolt (2) and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
3. Install the CMP sensor electrical connector (1) to the CMP sensor (2).
4. Install the power steering fluid reservoir. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (LFX) Power Steering Fluid Reservoir ReplacementPower Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (L99, LS3) Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement.
5. Install the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement Intake Manifold Replacement.
6. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front.
7. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
