Oil Pump Disassemble (LS3 with Z52 Option, LS7)





Note:

* The internal parts of the oil pump assembly are not serviced separately. If the oil pump components are worn or damaged, replace the oil pump as an assembly.

* Mark or identify the gears for assembly. Refer to Separating Parts Separating Parts.

1. Remove the oil pump cover bolts (408).

2. Remove the oil pump cover (409).

3. Remove the secondary pump drive gear (410) and driven gear (412).

4. Separate the secondary pump housing (456) from the primary pump housing (413).

5. Remove the primary pump drive gear (410) and driven gear (412).

6. Remove the pressure relief valve plug (416).

7. Remove the pressure relief valve spring (415).

8. Remove the pressure relief valve (414).

9. Inspect the oil pump components.
