Engine Support Fixture

Special Tools

* J-28467-B - Universal Engine Support Fixture.

* J-41803-9 - Engine Lift Hook.

* J-42451-1 - Engine Support Adapter.

* J-41803 - Engine Support Fixture Feet.

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools Tools and Equipment.

1. Remove the generator from the accessory mounting bracket. Refer to Generator Replacement (LS3 or LS7) Generator ReplacementGenerator Replacement (LS9) Generator Replacement.

2. Remove the engine covers.

3. Install J-42451-1 - Engine Support Adapter or J-41803-9 - Engine Lift Hook to the left cylinder head heavy duty bolt.

4. Install J-42451-1 - Engine Support Adapter or J-41803-9 - Engine Lift Hook to the right cylinder head heavy duty bolt.





5. Install J-41803 - Engine Support Fixture Feet(1) to the frame rails, parts are marked left and right.





6. Install J-28467-B - Universal Engine Support Fixture main bar (1).

7. Install each J 28467-7A lift hook through each engine bracket (2). Ensure that the hooks do not damage the surrounding components.

8. Hand-tighten the lift hook wing nuts (3) securely to remove all slack from the engine support fixture assembly

9. The engine is now supported in the vehicle to perform repairs that require front frame removal.
