DTC Descriptor
DTC B3875 02
- Wiper High Speed Control Relay Short to Ground
DTC B3875 01
- Wiper High Speed Control Relay Short to Voltage
Diagnostic Fault Information
Circuit/System Description
The body control module (BCM) monitors the wiper high speed relay control circuit only when wiper high speed mode is active. When the wiper high speed mode is requested, the BCM responds by applying a ground through the wiper high speed relay control circuit to the coil side of the relay, energizing the wiper high relay.
Conditions for Running the DTC
This DTC can set only when the output is actively being requested by the BCM.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
This DTC sets if the BCM detects a short to battery voltage in the wiper high speed relay control circuit.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
The BCM will not activate the output.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
* The current DTC will become history when the request for the output is removed or when the condition for setting the fault is corrected.
* The history DTC will clear after 50 consecutive ignition cycles without a fault present.

Circuit/System Testing
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X2 harness connector at the underhood fuse block, ignition ON.
2. Connect a test lamp between the control circuit terminal C1 and battery voltage.
3. Verify the test lamp turns ON and OFF when commanding the Wiper High Speed Wiper ON and OFF with a scan tool.
• If test lamp is always OFF
1. Ignition OFF, remove the X5 harness connector from the K9 body control module, ignition ON.
2. Test for less than 1 V between the control circuit and ground.
• If greater than 1 V, repair the short to voltage in the circuit.
• If less than 1 V
3. Ignition OFF.
4. Test for less than 2 ohms in the control circuit end to end.
• If 2 ohms or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
• If less than 2 ohms, replace the K9 body control module.
• If test lamp is always ON
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X5 harness connector at the K9 body control module.
2. Test for infinite resistance between the control circuit and ground.
• If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground in the circuit.
• If infinite resistance, replace the K9 body control module.
• If test lamp turns ON and OFF
4. Test or replace the underhood fuse block.
