Beginning with the 1981 model year, G Van windshields are urethane bonded to the body. Prior to the 1981 model year, G Van windshields were held in place by a urethane bonded weatherstrip.
When windshield replacement is required on 1981-1988 model G Vans, do not use the pre 1981 weatherstrip and windshield. The urethane bonded windshield specified for the 1981-1988 model years should be used.
