Effective with vehicles manufactured after January 30, 1989 (Vehicle Identification Numbers listed below), new air conditioning system O-ring seals which reduce the potential of Freon(R) leakage were released in production. These new, revised O-rings are manufactured from a neoprene material providing increased sealing properties over the former nitrile composition.

When repairing a Freon system leak, or performing a major repair to the air conditioning Freon(R) system, it is recommended the revised O-ring seals be installed.
