Some 1988 C/K 20-30 series models may have jack assemblies that rattle when the vehicle is driven over rough roads. To repair this condition, the following procedure should be followed:

1. Cut two pieces of adhesive backed closed cell sponge rubber (FBMS 610 Type 1B-ADH) 1-3/8" x 7/8" x 7/8" as shown in Figure No. 1.

NOTICE: FBMS 610 Type 1B-ADH is available from suppliers of foam rubber. One such source is:

Banks Brothers Corp. 590 Belleville Pike Keary, NJ 07032 (201) 991-6117

2. Insert the foam lengthwise between the two rivets in the jack base (Figure No. 2) and between the two rivets in the jack pad (Figure No. 3). The adhesive end should contact the jack base and jack pad.
3. After foam installation, ensure that the jack is fully folded down for storage
