Listed below are the approved lift points for the 1988 C/K truck, which can be referenced in Figures 1 and 2. The General Information Section of the 1988 C/K Service Manual, pages OA-2 and OA-6, also provides this information. Instructions for using the vehicle jack are included in the Owner's Manual, pages 3-6 thru 3-9 and on the Instruction Sheet located in the jack and tool storage box behind the front seat.
JACK PART OF VEHICLE
MODEL TYPE TO BE LIFTED JACK/HOIST PAD LOCATION
C or K Hoist Total Front hoist pads should be under the frame rails
"A" just forward of the second crossmember. Rear pads should be positioned under the rear spring front brackets "B".
C or K Floor Jack Rear End Position jack pad either between the spring pad and
shock absorber hanger "C" or under the axle differential case "D".
C or K OEM Jack Rear End Position jack pad between the spring pad and shock
absorber hanger "C".
C or K OEM Jack Front End Position jack pad under the frame rail just forward
of the second crossmember "A".
C Floor Jack Front End Position jack pad under the lower control arm and
inboard from the ball joint "E" or under the center of the front crossmember "F".
K Floor Jack Front End Position jack pad either under the middle of the
front crossmember "F" or under the lower control arm at the lowest point of the control arm "E".
