Ignition switch wiring harness and brake pedal linkage interference could cause ignition switch wiring harness wear in early production USPS vehicles. Should you be asked by USPS to repair this condition on one of these vehicles, the service procedure below should be followed.

Service Procedure
1. See Figure 1.
2. Pull the ignition switch wire harness to the vehicle left side of the steering column.
Thread a nylon strap (P/N 11509088) around the harness and through the opening between the brake pedal support bracket and the engine cover.
3. Tighten the strap around the harness and the bracket leg to obtain a minimum of 0.75" clearance between the harness and the brake pedal lever.
4. Cut off and remove excess strap.
