Inspection

1. Inspect clutch piston for damage. If check ball is missing or falls out or does not rattle when piston is shaken, replace piston.

2. Inspect piston seal and input shaft seal for damage.

3. Inspect clutch plates for damaged tangs, delamination, wear and heat damage.

4. Check piston return springs for heat discoloration and other damage.

5. Check third clutch drum for worn clutch splines and other damage.

6. Inspect thrust washer and bearing for wear and damage.

7. Check sun gear for damaged teeth and damaged sprag surface.

8. Check outer sprag race surface and retaining ring for damage.
