Lighting and Horns: Description and Operation
HEADLAMP SYSTEM
The headlamp circuit starts at the battery positive terminal, goes to the battery junction block, then through a fusible link to the headlamp switch, the headtamp dimmer switch, and finally forward to the headlamps.
The headlamp switch contains a self-resetting circuit breaker. If the headlamp circuit draws too much current, the circuit breaker opens, interrupting current flow. With no current passing through it, it cools and resets automatically.
The headlamp system has two options. One option includes two headlamps, each with a parking lamp located under it. The other option includes four headlamps with the parking lamps located in the grille. With the four lamp system, when the low beams are energized, only the outboard lamps will be on. When the high beam circuit is energized, the inboard lamps turn on while the outboard lamps turn off.
If the ignition switch is turned off when the headlamps are still on, a warning buzzer will sound.
