This bulletin is to announce the opening of the Kelsey Hayes Technical Assistance Center (K-TAC). K-TAC will provide diagnostic and repair assistance on 4WAURWAL vehicles, and parts shipping (4WAL only) of the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV), formerly called the electro-hydraulic control unit (EHCU).

FOR 4WAL, AN AUTHORIZATION CASE NUMBER FROM K-TAC IS REQUIRED BEFORE ANY BPMV (EHCU) WILL BE SHIPPED. ALL BPMVs WILL BE SHIPPED OVERNIGHT AND WILL BE INVOICED TO DEALERS VIA GM PARTS (GMSPO). A CORE CHARGE WILL BE INVOLVED. ALSO, INITIAL SHIPMENTS WILL NOT CONTAIN THE NECESSARY RETURN SHIPPING MATERIALS. THEY WILL BE PACKAGED SEPARATELY AND SENT THROUGH NORMAL GMSPO CHANNELS.

For RWAL, call K-TAC for diagnostic and repair assistance, but no parts authorization will be provided.

Prior to calling K-TAC (4WAL only), please complete the diagnostic data sheet (make copies of attachment to be included in the paper bulletin to follow), which includes the following information:

- Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
- Dealer Code
- Repair Order number
- Mileage
- What was the customer's specific complaint?
- The specific condition(s) you observed
- What Failure Codes were found - if any
- Dealer Name
- City/State
- Dealer contact person (Service Manager)
- Dealer phone number
- Complete bar code number from top of BPMV (EHCU)

NOTE:
K-TAC DOES NOT have warranty approval authority. If the repair is under warranty and beyond your Dealer Warranty Management Profile, contact your GMC District Service Manager.

K-TAC phones will be manned from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm EST, Monday through Friday. The remainder of the time an automated answering machine will take the information for a callback.
