With 2 Wheel Drive



1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Scribe hood hinge location, then remove hood.
3. Drain cooling system, then remove radiator hoses, heater hoses and overflow hose.
4. Remove upper fan shroud, then disconnect transmission and oil cooler lines, if equipped.
5. Remove radiator and fan.
6. Remove air cleaner and disconnect vacuum hoses.
7. Disconnect necessary wiring at the bulkhead, then disconnect ground wires and main feed wires.
8. Remove distributor cap, then disconnect throttle and cruise control cables, if equipped
9. Raise and support vehicle.
10. Remove converter-to-exhaust pipe bolts.
11. Disconnect exhaust pipes from manifolds.
12. Disconnect strut rods from bellhousing.
13. Remove flywheel cover attaching bolts, then the cover, if equipped.
14. Remove torque converter bolts.
15. Remove shield at rear of catalytic converter.
16. Disconnect converter hanger from exhaust pipe.
17. Remove lower fan shroud, then disconnect fuel lines and hoses.
18. Remove two outer air dam bolts.
19. Remove left body mount bolts and raise the body using jackstands.
20. Remove bellhousing bolts, then lower body.
21. Remove engine mount through bolts.
22. Remove jackstands and lower vehicle.
23. Remove A/C compressor and power steering pump, if equipped.
24. Support transmission and remove engine.
25. Reverse procedure to install.
