Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Installation

IMPORTANT: Be sure to keep parts in order. Parts must be put back from where they were removed.





1. Coat the valve rocker arm and valve rocker arm ball bearing surfaces with prelube GM P/N 1052367 or equivalent.

IMPORTANT: Be sure that the valve pushrods seat in the valve lifter sockets.

IMPORTANT: The 7.4L engine uses different length intake and exhaust valve pushrods. The exhaust valve pushrods are longer than the intake valve pushrods.

2. Install the valve pushrods.





3. Install the following parts:
3.1. The valve pushrod guide
3.2. The valve rocker arms
3.3. The valve rocker arm balls
3.4. The valve rocker arm bolts
Tighten the valve rocker arm bolts to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.).
