Engine Oil Dip Stick - Dip Stick Tube: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Disconnect the battery negative cables.

NOTICE: Refer to Battery Disconnect/Connect Caution in Service Precautions.

2. Remove the air cleaner assembly and air intake duct.
3. Remove the engine cover from the vehicle.
4. Remove the surge tank.


5. Remove the engine oil level indicator tube at the valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Oil Level Indicator and Tube Removal under Engine Unit Repair.





6. Remove the oil engine level indicator tube O-ring from the engine oil tube.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the new O-ring seal to the oil level indicator tube.





2. Install the engine oil level indicator tube to the engine. Refer to Oil Level Indicator and Tube Installation under Engine Unit Repair.
3. Install the engine oil level indicator tube bracket to the valve rocker arm cover.
4. Install the surge tank.
5. Install the engine cover.
6. Install the air cleaner assembly and air intake duct.
7. Connect the battery negative cables to the batteries.
