Troubleshooting Hints - Interior Lights
1. CHECK condition of PWR ACCY Fuse A, GAUGES Fuse 4, PARK LPS Fuse 9, CTSY Fuse 3, CIG LTR Fuse 13, PWR AUX Fuse 7, and HORN Fuse. If any fuse is open, LOCATE and REPAIR cause of overload and REPLACE the Fuse(s).2. CHECK that Grounds G101, G103, G200 (Upfitter Provisions only), G201, G401, and G402 are clean and tight.
3. CHECK that interior lamp filaments are not open.
4. If the IP Compartment Lamp and the Ashtray Lamp are both inoperative, LOCATE and REPAIR the open in the BLK (150) wire between Splice 5205 and Ground G201.
5. If the Dome Reading Lamp(s) are inoperative but the associated Dome Lamp is operative, CHECK bulb filaments for an open. If filaments are not open, REPLACE the Dome and Reading Lamp assembly.
6. If the Dome Reading Lamps remain on after switch actuation, REPLACE the Dome and Reading Lamp assembly.
7. If the Dome Lamps, the Dome Reading Lamps, the Stepwell Lamps. the Sun Shade Mirror Lamps, and the IP Compartment Lamps are inoperative, LOCATE and REPAIR the open in the ORN (40) wire between the IP Fuse Block and Splice S227.
8. If either Sun Shade Mirror Lamp does not turn off with cover closure or does not adjust brightness, REPLACE the Sun Shade Mirror Lamp assembly.
9. If the IP Compartment Lamp does not go out with closure of the IP Compartment door, REPLACE the IP Compartment Lamp assembly.
10. If the Underhood Lamp remains lighted with the hood closed and is properly mounted, REPLACE the Underhood Lamp.
11. If the dome lamps do not light for opening of the Side Door and the Rear Door but do operate for the front doors, then LOCATE and REPAIR the open in the PPL (328) wire between Splice S240 and Splice S316.

For models with Right Hand Stepwell Lamps, if the Dome Lamps light with the operation of the Dome Switch but not with the door jamb switches and if the Right Hand Stepwell Lamp operates with the jamb switches but not with the Dome Switch, LOCATE and REPAIR the open in the WHT (156) wire between Splice S226 and Splice S230.
^ CHECK for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove GOOD in a Continuity/Voltage check with a system disconnected. These Circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a Voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
^ CHECK for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other system (ReferTroubleshooting Procedures). Diagnostic Aids
