Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

Injector Nozzle:






IMPORTANT: Use the J 29873 nozzle socket in order to remove or install the injection nozzle. Use the 30 mm hex portion. Failure to do so will result in damage to the injection nozzle.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable(s).
2. Remove the Engine Cover if necessary.
3. Fuel line clip.
4. Fuel return hose.
5. Fuel injection line.

- Cap the nozzle and lines.

6. Injection nozzle using J 29873.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Install the injection nozzle using J 29873 (apply an anti seize compound to the threads of the nozzle that contact the cylinder).

Tighten
- Nozzle to 70 Nm (50 lb. ft.).

2. Fuel injection line.

Tighten
- Nut to 25 Nm (20 lb. ft.).

3. Fuel return hose.
4. Fuel line clip.
5. Negative battery cables.

IMPORTANT: Ensure that the PCM electrical harness is properly routed to avoid contact with the Engine Cover during installation.

6. Install the Engine Cover.
