Glow Plug Relay: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the Engine Cover.




3. Remove the harness connector from the Glow Plug Relay by releasing the locking tab.
4. Remove the hold down nuts on the glow plug feed wires.
5. Remove the glow plug teed wires.




6. Remove the relay mounting nuts.

7. Remove the relay from the studs on the engine.


INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the relay to the studs on the engine.
2. Install the relay mounting nuts.

^ Tighten the nuts to 42 Nm (31 lb. ft.).

3. Install the wiring harness connector to the relay.
4. Install the glow plug feed wires.
5. Install the glow plug feed wires nuts.

^ Tighten the nuts to 5 Nm (44 lb. in.).


IMPORTANT: Ensure that the PCM electrical harness is properly routed to avoid contact with the Engine Cover during installation.

6. Install the Engine Cover.
7. Connect the negative battery cables.
