Valve Body Removal
1. Remove the following components from the valve body:
^ The bolt
^ The detent spring (2)
^ The plate (1)
^ The manual valve (3)
2. Remove the nine upper valve body bolts.
3. Remove the six lower valve body bolts.
4. Separate the upper valve body (2) from the lower valve body (1) while pressing the separator plate and gasket against the lower valve body in order to prevent the check balls and the springs from failing out of the lower valve body.
5. Inspect the front upper valve body for the proper locations of the valves and the check balls (2).
6. Inspect the rear upper valve body (1) for the proper locations of the check balls (2).
7. Inspect the lower valve body (1) for the proper locations of the following components:
^ The bypass valve (3)
^ The check balls (6)
^ The primary regulator valve sleeve retainer (5)
