Service Engine Soon

The Service Engine Soon (SES) indicator is in the instrument cluster but is operated by a designated circuit from the VCM/PCM. The SES should turn on with the ignition switch in the RUN position and the engine off. The lamp should turn off 1 to 5 seconds after the engine starts. If the lamp stays on or turns on while driving, service to the emission control system may be required.
