Battery Cable: Service and Repair
Battery Cable Replacement-Auxiliary (TP2 - Relay)REMOVAL PROCEDURE
CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the positive battery cable from the TP2 (relay).
3. Disconnect the TP2 (relay) electrical connector.
4. Disconnect the starter lead from the TP2 (relay).
5. Remove the TP2 mounting nuts.
6. Remove the TP2 (relay).
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the TP2 (relay).
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the TP2 mounting nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
3. Connect the starter lead to the TP2 (relay).
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
4. Connect the TP2 (relay) electrical connector.
5. Connect the positive battery cable to the TP2 (relay).
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).
