Core and Tanks The core is made of aluminum and is of the crossflow design. The core utilizes large tubes that resist plugging. Repairs to the tubes and the core are not recommended for service. The core is attached to the tanks by clinched tabs on the core that cannot be bent back. If the tank or core is at fault, a complete radiator must be replaced.
