16. Intake Manifold Removal

1. Remove the upper intake manifold bolts.

IMPORTANT: Do not attempt to loosen the manifold by prying under the gasket surface with any tool.

2. Remove the upper intake manifold.





IMPORTANT: The upper intake manifold gaskets are not reusable.

3. Remove and discard the upper intake manifold gaskets.





4. Disconnect the fuel injector regulator vacuum hose connection from the intake manifold fitting.





5. Remove the fuel rail bolts.





6. Remove the fuel rail assembly.
Lift evenly on both sides of the assembly until all the injectors have left their bores.





7. Remove the lower intake manifold bolts.

IMPORTANT: Do not attempt to loosen the manifold by prying under the gasket surface with any tool.

8. Remove the lower intake manifold. Lift the lower intake manifold up evenly until removed from the engine.





9. Remove and discard the lower intake manifold gaskets.





10. Remove and discard the lower intake manifold seals.





11. Remove the splash shield.
