Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the throttle body assembly from the upper intake manifold.




2. Remove the mounting bolts from the TP sensor.

NOTE: The TP sensor is an electrical component. Do not soak the TP sensor in any liquid cleaner or solvent as damage may result.




3. Remove the TP sensor and gasket from the throttle body assembly.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: Ensure the TP sensor throttle valve is closed.




1. Align the TP flange holes with their corresponding holes in the throttle body assembly.
2. Install the TP sensor by placing the TP sensor over the gasket onto the throttle shaft.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.




3. Install the TP sensor mounting bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 2.0 N.m (18 lb in).




4. Install the throttle body assembly to the upper intake manifold.
