Manifold Pressure/Vacuum Sensor: Service and Repair

Other than checking for a worn grommet and loose electrical connections, the only service possible is unit replacement, it the diagnosis shows the sensor to be faulty.




REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the upper intake plenum.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
4. Remove the retainer bolt and remove the sensor.
5. If the original sensor is to be reused, discard the grommet.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. If the original sensor is to be reused, replace the grommet.
2. Install the bolts or snap sensor on bracket.
3. Connect the electrical connector.
4. Install the upper intake plenum.
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
