Illuminated Entry

The body control module (BCM) supplies power and ground for the interior courtesy lighting. Refer to body control module (BCM). The BCM receives a signal from any of the door jamb switches in the vehicle indicating that a door has been opened. This signal will come from either CKT 159 (TAN), (Drivers Door) or CKT 328 (PPL), (Passenger or Cargo Doors). Constant power, provided by the BCM, is supplied to the following components through CKT 40 (ORN):
- Courtesy Lamps, both Left and Right IP
- Courtesy Lamps, all doors

CKT 157 (TAN) is the signal return to the BCM. When the headlamp and dimmer switch is in the dome lamp defeat position, the power/ground connection is broken causing the courtesy lamps not to illuminate during the opening of any door(s).

If no doors are open and the ignition is in the Run or Accessory position, the BCM still supplies power. However, the headlamp and panel dimmer switch must be turned to the courtesy position for the courtesy lamps to light. The headlamp and panel dimmer switch provides ground for the circuit through CKT 150 (BLK) to ground G200.
