Steering Column Seal - C 3500 HD Only

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the intermediate steering shaft. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (C3500HD).
2. Push the locking ring tabs inward one at a time until the seal (1) separates from the dash panel (2).
3. Note the position of the locating tab directly at the bottom of the locking ring and the dash panel (2) opening.

Installation Procedure

Caution: If steering column to cowl panel seal is torn or otherwise damaged, it must be replaced. Confirm that the seal and inner race are properly located. Failure to do so may allow carbon monoxide into the vehicle, which may result in serious personal injury or death.





1. Align the locating tab groove on the seal (1) directly at the bottom of the dash panel (2) opening. The sheet metal fits into the groove.
2. Force the seal (1) upward and inward until the seal snaps into place.
3. Install the intermediate steering shaft. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (C3500HD).
