Radiator Replacement
Removal Procedure1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System.
2. Remove the radiator inlet hose. Refer to Radiator Hose Replacement - Inlet.
3. Remove the radiator outlet hose. Refer to Radiator Hose Replacement - Inlet.
4. Remove the fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement.
5. Remove the engine vent hose (4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L engines).
6. Remove the surge tank hose (4.3L engines).
7. Disconnect the engine oil cooler lines. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Line Replacement.
8. Disconnect the transmission oil cooler lines. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Line Replacement.
9. Remove the radiator mounting bolts.
10. Tilt the radiator towards the engine
11. Remove the radiator by pulling the radiator from the support.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the radiator by pushing the radiator and the rubber mounts into the radiator support.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the radiator mounting bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the outlet heater hose.
4. Connect the engine oil cooler lines. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Line Replacement.
5. Install the fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement.
6. Install the surge tank hose (4.3L engines).
7. Install the engine vent hose (4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L engines).
8. Install the radiator outlet hose. Refer to Radiator Hose Replacement.
9. Install the radiator inlet hose. Refer to Radiator Hose Replacement - Inlet.
10. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System.
11. Test the cooling system for leaks. Refer to Cooling System Leak Testing.
