Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURECAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor.
3. Remove the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor from the air cleaner outlet duct.
4. Remove the air cleaner from the wheel housing by pulling upward until the serrated retaining pin releases from the mounting bracket. Continue rotating the air cleaner upwards until the air cleaner inlet duct is separated from the fender.
5. Release the clips for the air cleaner cover.
6. Remove the air cleaner cover.
7. Remove the air cleaner element.
8. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct.
9. Remove the air cleaner inlet duct.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the air cleaner inlet duct.
2. Install the air cleaner outlet duct to the air cleaner base.
3. Install the air cleaner element.
4. Install the air cleaner cover.
5. Install the clips for the air cleaner cover.
6. Install the air cleaner to the wheel housing by aligning the tab on the intake duct with the wheel housing opening.
7. Align the serrated pin with the mounting bracket and install by pushing down until the serrated pin is firmly seated in the bracket.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
8. Install the MAF sensor to the air cleaner outlet duct.
Tighten
Tighten the clamp to 3-5 N.m (27-44 lb in.).
9. Install the IAT sensor harness.
10. Connect the negative battery cable.
