Air Bag Deactivation Switch: Service and Repair

INFLATABLE RESTRAINT IP MODULE SWITCH REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to SIR Handling Caution In Service Precautions.

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.
2. Remove Trim Plate- IP Accessory Panel.Trim Plate Replacement - IP Accessory






3. Release the four locking tabs (1) on the Passenger AIR BAG Disable Switch.




4. Remove the switch from the instrument panel.
5. Disconnect the electrical connections, as needed.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Connect the electrical connections, as needed.






2. Install the switch to the instrument panel by firmly pressing the switch into place.
3. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System.
