Clutch Switch: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution Service Precautions.





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the CPP switch electrical connector from the CPP switch (3).
3. Loosen the CPP switch lock nut (2).
4. Remove the CPP switch (3) from the brake pedal bracket (1) by turning counterclockwise.


Installation Procedure

^ Tools Required
- J 39200 Digital Multimeter





1. Install the CCPP.switch (3) into the brake pedal bracket (1) by turning clockwise.
2. Adjust the CPP switch (3) by inserting the probes of the J 39200 into either side of the CPP switch electrical connector.





3. Depress the clutch pedal (2) to within 20 to 30 mm (0.8 to 1.2 inch) from the floor (1).





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice Service Precautions.

4. Screw the CPP switch (3) clockwise into the brake pedal bracket (3) until continuity is obtained.
^ Tighten the CPP switch lock nut to 13 Nm (115 inch lbs.).
5. Install the CPP switch electrical connector to the CPP switch (3).
6. Install the negative battery cable.
