Transfer Case Disassemble (Continued)





31. Disassemble the range fork assembly.





32. Remove the synchronizer assembly retaining ring.





33. Remove the synchronizer assembly.





34. Remove the front input shaft seal.





35. Remove the front input shaft retaining ring.





36. Remove the planetary gear assembly.





37. Remove the input shaft retaining ring.





38. Remove the input shaft thrust plate.





39. Remove the input shaft thrust washer.





40. Remove the input shaft assembly.





41. Remove the 2nd thrust washer.





Important: For the super duty version of the NVG 263, it maybe necessary to rotate the bearing in the front case in order to gain access to the retaining ring.

When removing the retaining ring for the input shaft bearing in the super heavy duty version of the NVG 263, the retaining ring must be fully expanded and then remove the input shaft bearing. DO NOT release the retaining ring until the input shaft bearing has been removed.

42. Remove the input shaft bearing retaining ring.
43. Remove input shaft bearing.
44. Remove the front output shaft seal.
45. Using a flat tipped screw driver, pry the inner race back.
46. Slip the screw driver between the races at the axial sealing lips.
47. Pry the outer race from the transfer case.





48. Remove the front output shaft retaining ring.





49. Remove the front output shaft assembly.





50. Remove the front output shaft bearing retaining ring.





51. Remove the front output shaft bearing.





52. Remove the poppet assembly.





53. Remove the sector shaft retaining ring.





54. Remove the sector shaft assembly.
