Engine Sight Shield Replacement (w/RPOs Y91 and Z88)

Removal Procedure





1. Loosen the engine sight shield bolt.
2. Remove the engine sight shield from the sight shield retainer.
3. If required, remove the engine sight shield retainer bolts and the retainer.





4. Loosen the left fuel rail cover bolts.
5. Remove the left fuel rail cover.





6. Remove the surge tank/heater hoses from the clip on the right fuel rail cover.
7. Loosen the right fuel rail cover bolts.
8. Remove the right fuel rail cover.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the right fuel rail cover.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Tighten the right fuel rail cover bolts.
^ Tighten the fuel rail cover bolts to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.)
3. Install the surge tank/heater hoses to the clip on the right fuel rail cover.





4. Install the left fuel rail cover.
5. Tighten the left fuel rail cover bolts.
^ Tighten the fuel rail cover bolts to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.)





6. Install the engine sight shield retainer and the bolts, if required.
^ Tighten the engine sight shield retainer bolts to 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.).

Notice: Use care when installing the engine sight shield to avoid contacting the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor wire harness connector. Loss of engine performance or engine damage may result.

7. Install the engine sight shield to the retainer.
8. Tighten the engine sight shield bolt.
^ Tighten the engine sight shield bolt to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.)
