Front Fender: Service and Repair



Front Fender Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the hood.
2. Remove the hood link.
3. Remove the hood bumper.




4. Remove the fender to cowl support brace.




5. Remove the wheelhouse panel bracket.
6. Remove the battery tray, if applicable.
7. Remove the auxiliary battery tray, if applicable.
8. Remove the front grille.
9. Remove the air filter housing.
10. Remove the coolant surge tank.




11. Disconnect the hood latch release cable from the clips.




12. Disconnect the windshield washer hose.
13. Remove the underhood electrical center.
14. Remove the wheelhouse panel.




15. Remove the fender to upper cowl bracket bolt.




16. Remove the fender to door hinge bolts.




17. Remove the fender to radiator support bolts and retainers.




18. Remove the rear lower fender bolt.
19. Remove the fender from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the fender to the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the rear lower fender bolt.

Tighten the rear lower fender bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).




3. Install the fender to radiator support bolt and retainers.

Tighten the radiator support bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).




4. Install the fender to door hinge bolts.

Tighten the door hinge bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).




5. Install the fender to upper cowl bracket bolt.

Tighten the upper cowl bracket bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

6. Install the wheelhouse panel.
7. Install the underhood electrical center.




8. Connect the windshield washer hose to the clips.




9. Connect the hood latch release cable to the clips.
10. Install the coolant surge tank.
11. Install the air filter housing.
12. Install the front grille.
13. Install the battery tray, if applicable.
14. Install the auxiliary battery tray, if applicable.




15. Install the wheelhouse panel bracket.

Tighten the wheelhouse bracket nuts and bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).




16. Install the fender to cowl support brace.

Tighten the cowl support brace bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

17. Install the hood bumper.
18. Install the hood link.
19. Install the hood.
