Air Compressor ReplacementRemoval Procedure
1. Remove the automatic level control compressor shield. Refer to Air Compressor Shield Replacement.
2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
3. Deflate the system by removing the spring clip from the air line T-fitting base.
4. Remove the rear bumper extension. Refer to Step Pad Replacement - Hear Bumper (Pickup) or Step Pad Replacement - Rear Bumper (Utility) in Bumpers.
Remove the air line from the automatic level control air dryer.
5. Disconnect the automatic level control compressor electrical connections.
6. Remove the automatic level control air compressor mounting nuts.
7. Remove the automatic level control air compressor from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Hang the automatic level control air compressor to the vehicle using the hook on the automatic level control air compressor bracket.
2. Reconnect the automatic level control compressor electrical connections.
3. Install the air line to the automatic level control air dryer.
4. Install the automatic level control compressor shield. Refer to Air Compressor Shield Replacement.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
5. Install the automatic level control air compressor to the underbody.
Tighten
Tighten the automatic level control air compressor nuts to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
6. Install the rear bumper extension. Refer to Step Pad Replacement - Rear Bumper (Pickup) or Step Pad Replacement - Rear Bumper (Utility) in Bumpers.
7. Lower the vehicle.
