Clutch Switch: Service and Repair
Clutch Pedal Position Switch Replacement^ Tools Required
- J39200 Digital Multimeter
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the CPP switch electrical connector from the CPP switch (3).
3. Loosen the CPP switch lock nut (2).
4. Remove the CPP switch (3) from the brake pedal bracket (1) by turning counterclockwise.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the CPP switch (3) into the brake pedal bracket (1) by turning clockwise.
2. Adjust the CPP switch (3) by inserting the probes of the J39200 into either side of the CPP switch electrical connector.
3. Depress the clutch pedal (2) to within 20 - 30 mm (0.8 - 1.2 inch) from the floor (1).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Screw the CPP switch (3) clockwise into the brake pedal bracket (3) until continuity is obtained.
^ Tighten the CPP switch lock nut to 13 Nm (115 inch lbs.).
5. Install the CPP switch electrical connector to the CPP switch (3).
6. Install the negative battery cable.
