Oil Pan Cleaning and Inspection - Lower





1. Clean the lower oil pan (7). Remove all the sludge and any oil deposits.
2. Clean the mating surfaces of the lower oil pan.
3. Inspect the threads of the engine oil drain plug (5).
4. Inspect the lower oil pan for cracking near the pan rails.
5. Inspect the lower oil pan for cracking resulting from impact or flying road debris.
6. Repair or replace the oil pan as necessary.
