SIR Steering Wheel Module Coil - Assemble

Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil-Assemble-Off Vehicle (Floor Shift)





1. install the wave washer (1).





2. Align the block-tooth on the race and upper shaft assembly (1) to the 12:o'clock position.
3. Put the key in the OFF position and remove the key.





4. A new inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil will be precentered. Do not depress the tab (1) on the block of the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil.
5. If reusing the original inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil, refer to Inflatable Restraint Coil Centering-Off Vehicle (Column Shift And Floor Shift).





6. Align the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil (2) with the horn tower sticking through the shaft lock shield assembly (1).

Important: The retaining ring (1) must seat securely on the groove of the race and upper shaft assembly (2).





7. Install the retaining ring (1).
8. Pull the orange tab and discard, if using a new inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil.





9. Pop the wire harness (4) onto the wire harness strap (5).
10. Install the wire harness strap (2) onto the steering column tilt head assembly (1).
11. Install the wire harness straps (3) onto the wire harness assembly (4).
12. Install the upper and lower trim covers.
