Scan Tool Data Definitions - Cruise Control

The Scan Tool Data Definitions contains a brief description of all Cruise Control related parameters available on the scan tool. The list is in alphabetical order. A parameter may appear more than once or in more than one data list in order to group certain related parameters together.

APP Indicated Angle: The scan tool displays 0-100 percent. The scan tool displays the Accelerator Pedal Position in percentage. When the APP is not applied, the scan tool displays 0 percent. When the APP is fully depressed, the scan tool displays 100 percent.

Cruise Control Active: The scan tool displays Yes or No. The scan tool displays Yes when the PCM determines that the cruise control has been requested and the criteria for activation has been met.

Cruise Inhibit Signal Command: The scan tool displays On or Off. When the criteria for activating the cruise control has not been met, the PCM will inhibit cruise control operation and the scan tool displays On.

Cruise Disengage 1-8 History: The Scan tool displays the last 8 cruise control disengages in order from 1 to 8. There are 20 possible causes for the cruise control to disengage. Refer to Scan Tool Data Definitions (Cruise Control) or Scan Tool Data Definitions (Disengaged History) for descriptions.

Cruise On/Off Switch: The scan tool displays On or Off. When the cruise control On/Off switch is switched to On, the scan tool displays ON. When the cruise control On/Off switch is Switched to Off, the scan tool displays OFF.

Cruise Resume/Accel. Switch: The scan tool displays On or Off. When the cruise control On/Off switch is in the On position and the Resume/Accel button is pressed, the scan tool displays ON. When the Resume/Accel switch is released the scan tool displays OFF.

Cruise Set/Coast Switch: The scan tool displays On or Off. When the cruise control On/Off switch is in the On position and the Set/Coast button is pressed, the scan tool displays ON. When the Set/Coast switch is released the scan tool displays OFF.

DTC Set This Ignition: The scan tool displays Yes or No. The PCM monitors the systems function in order to determine if a DTC has been set.

Reduced Engine Power: The scan tool displays Active or Inactive. The scan tool displays Active when the PCM receives a signal from the TAC module that a throttle actuator control system fault is occurring. The PCM limits the engine power.

Stoplamp Pedal Switch: The scan tool displays Open or closed. When the brake pedal is depressed, the scan tool displays Closed and the stoplamp switch is Closed.

TAC/PCM Communication Signal: The scan tool displays OK or Fault. If the communication between the TAC Module and the PCM is interrupted the scan tool displays Fault. The scan tool displays OK under the normal operating conditions.

TCC/Cruise Brake Switch: The scan tool displays Open or Closed. This parameter indicates the state of the TCC/CC brake switch circuit input. The scan tool displays Open when the brake pedal is depressed and the TCC/CC brake switch is open.

Vehicle Speed Sensor: The scan tool displays km/h or mph. The PCM monitors the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) signal circuit. The PCM converts the VSS signal into km/h or mph.
